Public Benefit Organisation (PBO)
Museum Zaanse Tijd is operated by the Museum of Dutch Clock Foundation and is an officially registered Dutch public benefit cultural institution (ANBI). The Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation is exclusively concerned with its objectives and is therefore fully and only active in the cultural field. Donors of cultural PBO’s have an extra tax advantage, because an extra donation deduction applies to them.
Donating to the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation can be done in various ways and since the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation is designated as a Cultural Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), your donation is fully deductible for Dutch income or corporate tax. In addition, donations to cultural institutions, such as the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation, may even be deducted for 125% by the multiplier for the first €5,000. So you may deduct a quarter more than you actually donated. Multiple donations in a single year to different PBO’s are added together by the Dutch tax authorities. Conditions and rules may differ per country!

Forms of giving
One-time gift
You may deduct a one-off donation to the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation from your taxable annual income. A threshold of 1% (with a minimum of € 75) and a ceiling of 10% of the joint income of you and your partner applies. Conditions and rules may differ per country!
Periodic gift
You make optimal use of the tax benefits that the Dutch government offers you when you record your donation to the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation in a periodic donation agreement for a period of at least five years, in five equal parts. There is no threshold or maximum for such donations that meet all the conditions of a regular donation. The rate at which a donation to a Dutch PBO can be settled will be gradually adjusted in the coming period from 51.75 percent in 2019 to 37 percent in 2023 (percentages for years after 2019 can still change). The tax deduction associated with a donation to the Museum of the Dutch Clock Foundation keeps pace with this. Conditions and rules may differ per country!
